Emulsifier
Through addition of emulsifier in aqueous thermoplastic paste systems, a good emulsifying effect for fast adding and stiring of thermoplastic powders is achieved.
There are hotmelt adhesives that not react with plasticizers. In this case, lowering melting range and melt index to reduce fusing conditions is not possible. These are commonly:
- High- and Low-Density Polyethylene
- Selective thermoplastic Polyurethanes
- High-crystalline Copolyesters
- Ethylene-Vinyl-Acetate
Although good dispersing properties are necessary. Respectively an appropriate emulsifier must be used. Without addition of a suitable emulsifier, a clean paste print and running stability would not be achieved.
