The Polypropylene series ROWALIT® 600-Serie consists of modified polypropylene for textile coatings. They are synthesized by low-pressure solution polymerisation by usage of specific catalysts.

Comparing to other thermoplastic hotmelt adhesives, initial bond strength of PP is lower. It provides resistance against oils, lubricants and many solvents. Polypropylene provides good heat resistance that is used in automotive applications. Examples are

  • motor compartment isolation, headliner (automotive)
  • bondings requiring good heat resisitance
  • binder for fibre-nonwovens (substitute for phenolic-resin)
